Word Search: A Haiku
Should I search for new
Words to say old things, or search
For new things to say?.

My Time to invent a new voice? Or should I re-invigorate the old? Maybe a little of both. Now more than ever, I am determined to concentrate o my writing.
The world outside has not gotten any better. In fact, it has gotten much worse. We still have the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. The problems with Irsrael and Gaza have not been solved. And now we are engaged in a war with Iran. Oh, I almost forgot Venezuela. Who knows where it will all end and what the results will be?
In the meantime, those of us not actually involved in the conflicts still have to live our lives. We cannot hold our breath and wait for it all to end. We have to go on with our lives and maintain some sort of normalcy. Not exactly a piece of cake.
The winter here in the Springs has remained relatively mild. I certainly won’t complain about that, considering the northeast has been brutalized by Mother Nature. I’m looking out from my patio right now, and there is snow on the mountaintops. The clouds are white and fluffy, and the sun is shining. It’s in the mid 50’s. I’m loving it!
I’m in the process of collecting my writings from my dystopian younger years. I will share a sample here soon. I will publish that collection soon also.
Sam Rock may snare Marie Delacroix and her misguided ravens in the near future. (or not) Sentia is anxious to share her recent ancestry. And my Haiku are itching to be collected in another chapbook.
Then there’s Eldreth, demanding of me the same as the Pope demanded of Michelangelo, “When will you make an end to It?” To which the artist answered, “When I am finished!”
Somehow, I don’t think Eldreth would accept that answer. He has another task for me also. Since my late son, Vernon Ray Wilmer, Jr. gave him and his companions life, he suggests I contribute part of my earnings from the books he illustrated to a suicide prevention group, a worthy cause, indeed.
I told Eldreth I would go one step further. This year, I will donate a dollar from every book of mine sold to a sucide prevention organization. Except for “Climate In Crisis” which is dedicated to the environment.
And since this is the year of the “Fire Horse”, I’d better get mounted up and gallop my way through these projects befoe I ride off into the sunset.
As always, I welcome your reactions and responses to any of my blogs. I love to hear from my readers. Also, here are links to my Amazon, Twitter and Facebook pages, if you care to share your thoughts with me there or look for any publication announcements, and there will be announcements.

It is now March. I sure hope it goes out like a lamb, not only weather-wise, but conflict-wise also. I shall endeavor to write more and watch less news – except fot the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. I echo everyone’s sentiments, “BRING HER HOME!”
